My father spent much of the later years of his life expressing his feelings through drawing. Here are some my favorites.

Self-Portrait in Pencil
One of my father's self-portraits, done on a page of a 3 x 5 pad. He used to buy these small unobtrusive pads and keep them in his front pocket. He liked to ride the bus during the day and surreptitiously sketch people sitting across from him. At other times, he was his own subject.
I'm so glad people like them! For years I know that my mother wanted him to have some recognition and she is very happy that he has some appreciation. Thank you for stopping by!
These are absolutely fantastic stuff. The life drawings knocked my socks off. His lines are fiercely elegant, every single stroke had a purpose, there is nothing extraneous. This portrait is pure genius, capturing the feeling in a few strokes is by no means an easy task. He has my deepest respect.
Thanks so much, Felix! My mother will be thrilled to her your comment. I read them to her over the phone as she does not have a computer yet. I think I have finally talked her into letting me set one of mine up for her so she can visit the blog!
My father, Samuel Wray passed away September 1, 2007. He was 86. My mother, Ellie, cared for him full-time for the last four years of his life. She is proud of his talent, and would love to share it with the world.
Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing a reproduction. All proceeds will go to his widow, my mother. Interested parties please write.
